Matt Damon is on the cover of the July/August issue of Fast Company – and Water.org, the organization he helped found with Gary White, is the focus of the story.

Everything from how Damon first became involved in water issues in the developing world, to his partnership with White, to new initiatives the org is helping to push is covered. There are also some interesting tidbits – like the fact that Water.org is on track to score $10M in donations this year – or that Damon himself recently coughed up $1M to help fund a new initiative by the org.

“I think what resonates with me most is when you see people living without clean water and they’re forced to scavenge for water and basically use up all of their time just doing that,” he said earlier this year. “You realize that they’re in such a crippling cycle of poverty; it’s just a death spin that they can’t possibly get out of.”
