In celebration of Earth Day, Glee's Matthew Morrison hosted the DASANI Plant Model Fashion Show at the Grove shopping center in Los Angeles, featuring the "plant-based couture" designs of Yotam Solomon. The event celebrated the new DASANI PlantBottle packaging, which is made from thirty percent plant material. AOL 9;s Los Angeles Designer of the Year created seven original concepts for the outdoor fashion show.
The untraditional garments, which were made of both plants and flowers, had a message of sustainability. "It's all about inspiration and it's a pleasure to create designs made out of greenery for today's Earth Day celebration," Solomon said. "Today's designs were inspired by a great product to make our planet better and I'm proud of the new DASANI PlantBottle." The L.A.-based designer is known for using environmentally friendly materials in his fashion and footwear collections.
Solomon, a graduate of FIDM's Fashion Design program, has found a tremendous amount of success since graduating from the fashion school in 1997.
