Actress, environmentalist and UNICEF Ambassador Trudie Styler (AKA Mrs. Sting) has partnered with lifestyle company Gaiam to launch a new yoga mobile app, Trudie Styler’s Weight Loss Yoga. The app contains four workouts: Yoga Conditioning for Weight Loss, Total Body Yoga, Yoga Abs and Chair Yoga.


The app includes bonus features as well, including an interview with Styler and a brief meditation practice. There is also an interview with Dr. Alejandro Junger, author of the detox book Clean, and and two-week meal plan by Joseph Sponzo, Styler’s personal chef.

This is not the first partnership between Styler and Gaiam; she previously released six fitness DVDs through the wellness company. The app is based on the sixth DVD, also titled Trudie Styler’s Weight Loss Yoga, which features the actress and her personal trainer James D’Silva (who is also featured in the app).

According to Gaiam president William S. Sondheim, ”As an accomplished and avid yoga practitioner, Trudie Styler makes mind-body fitness accessible and fun. We’re thrilled to share the fresh perspective on yoga that she and James D’Silva bring to the practice through this new app. Especially for weight loss, mobile apps offer ready-when-you-are ways for consumers to embrace a healthier lifestyle through exercise and a cohesive diet plan.”

Styler finds yoga to be a great workout. “Yoga is a calm, focused way to exercise, because you have to concentrate and you have to take your time in order to get it right, and it touches your whole body rather than just one area. As well as the hard work burning calories, the toning of the muscles helps you lose inches as everything gets firmer, leaner and stronger. Stronger muscles in turn burn more calories, even when you’re not doing any exercise at all!”

The app, available for both iPhone and iPad, sells for $14.99 on iTunes.
