At the Motoring Matters Magazine Group awards, held in Melbourne, ECOcar magazine readers awarded the already highly acclaimed Hyundai i30 hatch ‘ECOcar Magazine People’s Choice Award ’. This makes it a hat-trick for Hyundai having taken out an ECOcar Magazine awards for the third time following the success of i30cw in 2009 and i20 in 2010 for ‘ECOcar of the Year’, while iLoad took the ‘Delivery Magazines Best Van’ award in 2009.

The multi-award winning i30 was the first of the ‘i-series’ models to launch in Australia followed by the ground-breaking i45 and most recently the compact i20 range.

Publisher and Managing Editor of Motoring Matters Magazine Group, Mr. Chris Mullett said, “The awards focus attention on the continuing improvements in fuel economy, lower emissions and increased safety levels of new vehicles in all the major categories of the automotive and transport industries.”

The ‘ECOcar Magazine People’s Choice Award’ is awarded by the readers, and is notlimited to new or recently released car entrants only.

“After having won previous ECOcar of the Year awards in its own right, the i30 has gone on to receive a full swag of awards from other publications, testimony indeed that ECOcar Magazine leads with its views, only to find full support for its decisions following from other influential sources,” concluded Mr Mullet.

The Motoring Matters Magazine Group, publishers of ECOcar Magazine, Delivery Magazine and PowerTorque Magazine, announced the winners at the annual Motoring Matters Magazine Group Awards.

“The new fuel efficient i30 hatch offers cutting edge European styling, class leading specification and safety” commented Oliver Mann Hyundai’s Director of Marketing. “We are delighted that the i30 range is continuing to win recognition as well as attracting new customers to our Dealerships.”

Full details of the award contenders and the judging criteria are contained in the June issues of Ecocar magazine, on sale nationally from Friday June 3rd 2011.
