In honor of Earth Day (Friday, April 22nd) artist and producer Pharell Williams has teamed up with Kiehl’s, the apothecary-style skin and haircare company in hopes to raise $200,000 for the Rainforest.
Pharell, a famous rapper and fashion designer has used his creative energy toward designing bottle labels for a new Limited Edition antioxidant facial treatment. The Kiehl’s Acai Damage-Protecting Toning Mist will retail for $26 and will be promoted by other celebrities such as Maila Jones and Julianne Moore.
As recycling has become a growing fashion trend in Hollywood, more and more celebrities are jumping on the green bandwagon. Pharell Williams is no stranger to environmental consciousness. Currently, Pharell has been using Bionic Yarn (fabrics recycled from plastic) in his own clothing line BBC/Ice Cream. Kiehl’s has utilized this new technology by inviting Pharell to design an eco-friendly tote for their “Recycle and Be Rewarded” program. By recycling empty jars and bottles at local US Kiehl’s stores, customers can be eligible to get one of these Bionic Yarn bags FREE. Participation in the program lasts from April to June, 2011.
