Let me draw you a picture about Steve King. Steve King is a representative of the state of Iowa and by taking a brief look on his resumé you can see what he’s about:

In 2012, he introduced an amendment that would legalize previously banned animal agriculture practices such as tail-docking and arsenic in chicken feed. He also voted against a bill that would establish penalties for dog fighting organizers because ‘there was no law against human fights such as boxing matches’. Good to know he is aware that humans choose to fight in that ring while dogs don’t. Way to go, King!

Love him already? Wait, there is more! He once said that saving dogs from disaster areas was pointless. What a waste of time, right?

Thank God that for each of these there is a Stephen Colbert that makes fun of them. Last year, Colbert’s bit about King and dog fighting became a must-see.

Here’s the bit:

This week, King stroke again arguing about a new law that would increase the size of chicken cages in California because it would be wrong to require the rest of the country to do the same. After hearing this, I was expecting The Colbert Report to shoot back and thankfully, he did. Check out the hilarious new report.
