Sudsies Dry Cleaners & Laundry will be honored for its commitment to the environment and community by the ReThink + ReUse Center, a non-profit organization that encourages youth education and creativity through recyclable materials.

The green cleaner is one of four companies to be highlighted during the 4th Annual Trash Bash “funraiser” hosted by the center on May 20, 2011 in the Miami Design District. Specifically, each has been designated as a business that goes above and beyond to incorporate sustainable products into everyday activities. The Sudsies partnership with the ReThink + ReUse Center also includes ongoing donations of materials that can be repurposed and incorporated into art programs.

“We’re serious about clean clothes and a clean environment,” says Sudsies Founder and CEO Jason Loeb. “My team and I support the ReThink + ReUse Center’s unique educational cause wholeheartedly and are thrilled to be recognized by such an impacting organization.”

A leader in the eco-dry cleaning industry, Sudsies invested in a complete overhaul of its operational system in 2007, incorporating environmentally-friendly practices throughout every point in the process. All laundry and dry cleaning undergoes a wet cleaning procedure that uses only biodegradable detergents and low-water usage equipment reduce water consumption that requires as little as one ounce of cleaning fluid per 15 garments and one gallon of water per 2,000 garments. All clothing is presented on high-quality, recyclable/reusable hangers and is wrapped in recyclable plastic covers.

Beyond cleaning procedures, all Sudsies facility lighting and office equipment are Energy Star-rated and mercury-free, while motion detectors limit unnecessary lighting. Sudsies’ environmental efforts have earned it the designation as one of just two South Florida cleaners with a four-leaf membership level by the Green Cleaners Council, the prestigious panel in partnership with the National Cleaners Association that reviews and ranks dry cleaning companies’ eco-efforts on a strict scale of tight criteria. Sudsies is also an active member of the Environmental Coalition of Miami & the Beaches (ECOMB) that supports a variety of initiatives aimed to promote sustainability and preserve the community ecology.

These efforts are part of the Sudsies service-driven trifecta to provide garment-friendly, customer-friendly and environmental-friendly service. A smile accompanies its full-scope of offerings, which include dry cleaning, laundry, alterations, restoration services, couture care and on-site home cleaning. All services include complimentary pick-up and delivery six days a week from/to every residence and office across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.
