By Ali Berman Brazilian supermodel Giselle Bundchen, Spanish actor and musician Miguel Bose and Beatle Paul McCartney have made the short list for the honor of Best Green Celebrity for the 6th International Green Awards. The three eco powerhouses beat out other impressive greenies like Leonardo DiCaprio, Sting, and Don Cheadle among ten or so others from around the world. Votes poured in from the public for al l of the nominees, but these three are in final competition to become the international green media ambassador. The award will be announced on November 24th at the Natural History Museum in London. Bundchen said about her commitment to activism, “I am blessed to have grown up in a family that embraced the importance of nature and community coexisting in harmony. My career in the public eye has given me the opportunity to raise awareness about important socio-environmental causes in the hope of promoting a more conscious relationship with our environment.” In our last post on the competition, commenters seemed enthusiastic about Sir Paul McCartney and his involvement in the Meatless Mondays campaign to win the honor. Or will people root for Giselle Bundchen, the goodwill ambassador for the United Nations Environmental Program? Maybe Miguel Bose will get the win with, among other things, his work to urge Spain to support the ban on the international trade of bluefin tuna. Any way you slice it, one of these deserving candidates is going to be recognized for their great work on behalf of planet earth. Article courtesy of ecorazzi.com
