Los Angeles Waterkeeper is partnering with Sustainable Surf, a recycled and plant-based materials surfboard organization, to host a night of surf, sustainability and stars on the sand to help protect our ocean. “SeaChange” will take place on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 from 6:30 -10:00 PM at Paradise Cove Beach Cafe in Malibu.
The fundraiser event will feature a showcase of sustainable surfboard technology (including a live surfboard glassing demo with non-toxic, plant-based resin), vintage surf films screened outdoors, fabulous food and drinks, amazing auction items, a great program including our Executive Director, Liz Crosson, and an All-Star band jamming on the sand. Celebrity guest speakers Shaun Tomson (World Champion surfer/environmentalist) and Darryl Hannah (actress/activist) will be in attendance along with local Malibu teen surfing champs Thelen McKinna-Worrell (age 15) and Frankie Harrer (age 14). Special musical guests include actress Minnie Driver, Malibu’s Cisco Adler, and the “Bitch’n All Stars”.
